It’s a favorite fragrance I use year round. Class and versatility is a good way to describe no.89. From the meeting room in a business suit to an evening out on the town. Floris no.89 stands out in a crowd in a positive way. Its quality shines through and doesn’t follow a modern trend but sets its own. I’m glad I stumbled on to Floris. I have confess I never heard of the brand until two years ago. Keep up the good work. JC

Brilliantly subtle and evocative of the English man.

Great summer fragrance

Great for summer, especially for hot and humid areas (I live in South Carolina). It's not overpowering and has a light citrus scent. I get compliments on it, as I do with all Floris products. I find it usually wears off by about 1 or 2 pm if I apply it at about 7 am, which I am led to understand is expected with an eau de toilette. I doubt you will be disappointed if you purchase this item either for your first Floris purchase (it was mine) or a gift for a gentleman in your life.

A Gentlemans Fragrance

A fragrance for gentlemen. Subtle with an understated power and freshness. Much like a good suit it fits effortlessly, adds a certain something and isn't flashy or brash.

A scent for those who have no desire to follow the designers or emulate celebrity.

People these day's use designer brands that quite frankly don't last, and smell like a car crash of smells. Thank goodness for Floris' No. 89. I put this on in the morning and can still smell it in bed at night. It get's me noticed for all the right reasons, a true English gentleman.

No 89

I was in town today and decided to visit Floris in Jermyn Street, for the first time to purchase the Edwardian Bouquet Eau de Toilette, but when I arrived home I discovered I was sold No 89. At first I was disappointed, but when I sprayed some on my wrist I was pleasantly surprised and decided I liked it. I usually blend my own fragrance from essential oils, such a patchouli, sandalwood, Rose Otto or vertiver, but this little adventure into the unknown turned out to be interesting to say the least. While I am aware this fragrance is a male preference, I prefer to 'wear' a spicy, woody scent, yet I am very much a woman :-)

The Quintessential British Fragrance

This was the first Floris fragrance that I ever had the privilege of smelling, and how fitting that was: it's one of Floris's best. Up to that point, only having known the synthetic messes that are "American" fragrances, No. 89 was a breath of fresh, inspired air. With heavy notes of powder, underscored by delicate citrus, you really cannot go wrong with this fragrance. However, it certainly goes best, paired with a suit!

Classic British fragrance

I am a recent convert to No 89 having previously only worn fragrances by Hermes. I totally agree with the other reviews, this is truly a classic scent evocative of a bygone age and unlike most of the "designer" and celebrity products which exist elsewhere. No wonder it was a favourite of Ian Fleming.
