In celebration of the new 'A Rose for... Eau de Parfum', the latest Floris By Request Limited Edition fragrance, we asked some of our Floris London team members what they love about perfume,  along with what makes fragrance so personal to them.

A ROSE FOR...LAURA

What city you call home?

London, I am Scottish but have lived here for over 8 years and now think of London as home.

Favourite notes within A Rose for...

I really like the scent of red roses and amber. Red roses add a floral warmth to the fragrance and the amber enhances this.

How often do you change your scent?

I have a selection of about 7 in my drawer. I rotate depending on my mood and the weather. It can be different each day, but the weather and season plays the biggest part in my life when choosing a scent to wear.

When would you wear A Rose for...?

Roses make me  think of spring time, so I'd recommend wearing a rose for when the weather gets a little brighter.

Favourite childhood memory of a rose scent?

My mum always used to wear Dior Poision, which had heart notes of rose in it,  so this evokes very strong memories of my childhood and Christmas time - she would get a new bottle every Christmas.

What is your advice for choosing the perfect scent to wear for an evening party?

For an evening party or event I would always choose something a little more bespoke or limited edition to stand out from the crowd. I wouldn't want anyone to be wearing the same outfit as me, so the same goes for fragrance!

First time someone bought you roses?

My first boyfriend sent me cheap roses for Valentine's Day one year.

Last time someone bought you roses?

My friends bought me a lovely bouquet of mixed flowers including some pale pink roses when I got engaged last year.

A ROSE FOR...MARTA

City you call home?

Milan - I'm Italian.

Favourite notes within A Rose for...

I really like oud and vanilla in this fragrance. Oud is a very sensual scent and brings warmth to the fragrance. I love vanilla for its sweet scent, however it is very subtle in this perfume.

How often do you change your scent?

I am never wearing the same fragrance. I switch it up almost every day. I always like to change it up a bit because it is more interesting.

When would you wear A Rose for...?

I think the fragrance doesn't need to be worn at a specific time. To me, it depends on whether the scent is either heavy or light and as this fragrance leans more heavy, I would be more inclined to wear it in the evening.

Favourite childhood memory of a rose scent?

My home town  used to grow roses in the fields and this is probably my first memory of the scent of roses.

What is your advice for choosing the perfect scent to wear for an evening party?

I think people remember one another by their scent, so I suggest to wear something unique for an evening party. A Rose for... is a very unique fragrance as Floris only produces 100 of these fragrances.

First time someone bought you roses?

My Dad bought me roses for my birthday when I turned 16.

Last time someone bought you roses?

Again, it was my Dad for Valentine's Day...This is what happens when you are single!

City you call home?

London.

Favourite notes within A Rose for...

My favourite notes within A Rose for are incense and vanilla. I love anything sweet smelling and the combination of the musky incense mixed with the sweet vanilla makes this fragrance a perfectly balanced oriental rose.

How often do you change your scent?

I change my scent depending on the season, time of day and mood. In general I tend to choose sweet scents, but also enjoy the exotic, romantic notes of oud. In the day, I am more likely to wear a lighter scent as apposed to the evening, when I prefer a deeper scent such as 'A Rose for...'

When would you wear A Rose for...?

I would suggest wearing 'A Rose for...' in the evening due to the heart notes of orris and oud, along with base notes of Patchouli and vanilla, making this dark and romantic scent perfect for the evening.

Favourite childhood memory of a rose scent?

The first time I can remember a rose scent was whilst I used to holiday in Dubrovnik, Croatia where the scent of rose was all around me.

What is your advice for choosing the perfect scent to wear for an evening party?

I tend to advise fragrances based on womens' previous experiences with scents, to find the right one for them. For an evening party, I would suggest a deeper scent and one that stands out from others, such as A Rose for...

First time someone bought you roses?

My first boyfriend when I was 16 years old on Valentines Day.

Last time someone bought you roses?

My beautiful caring sister bought me roses as she knows my passion for flowers, so she always buys me flowers when she visits. Roses are always her 'go to' choice for me, sometimes she gives me red roses, other times white roses and I love them both the same.

A ROSE FOR...ALICE

City you call home?

Leeds - I grew up there.

Favourite notes within A Rose for...

I really like the Darjeeling tea that is used within the fragrance. Darjeeling tea is a very unique note that isn't often used in fragrance but adds an oriental and floral twist.

How often do you change your scent?

I don't change my scent often as I like people to recognise me by one scent. I recently started wearing a sample of 'A Rose for...' and am very tempted to purchase a full size, if there are any left!

When would you wear A Rose for...?

I think this fragrance is great to wear all year round. However, I think it would be more suitable as an evening fragrance due to the deep and woody notes of oud, sandalwood & patchouli.

Favourite childhood memory of a rose scent?

When I was a little girl, I used to make homemade rose perfume with my mum by crushing real rose petals from my garden in water and leaving them to settle - it was lots of fun.

What is your advice for choosing the perfect scent to wear for an evening party?

To me, it's all about standing out from the crowd. I would recommend a unique or limited edition fragrance, and would suggest wearing an Eau de Parfum as this lasts a lot longer on the skin.

First time someone bought you roses?

I received my first bunch of  pink and white roses at school from my boyfriend, after I had passed my A levels.

Last time someone bought you roses?

I received roses last year for Valentines Day - of course they were my favourite, pink and white roses.
