First Signs Of Springtime Snowdrops

February 28, 2019

Flowering at the end of January, snowdrops are one of the first signs of spring, a light an subtle fragrance that brings with it a sense of joy for the new season.

There is something so pleasing about the discovery of a patch of snowdrops during a weekend walk, the symbol that the long winter months are coming to an end and that spring is finally around the corner. A white bell shaped flower and a contrast to the dark earth from which it grows, snowdrops evoke feelings of freshness and new life.

A flower with a green, fresh, floral note, the fragrance of snowdrops is not particularly strong, however, when combined with other springtime florals, it provides added freshness and coolness to the fragrance accord.

Inspired by the flora and fauna found along the banks of the River Avon during the morning mist, our limited edition River Dawn Eau de Parfum is a springtime fragrance that contains the soft scent of snowdrops which is joined by hyacinth to evoke the feeling of fresh optimism for the new season. Gently rounded by earthy notes from the addition of orris and galbanum.

As the weather starts to warm, take a trip out to see the white carpets that cover parts of the English countryside. Painswick Rococco Gardens is one of our favourite places to visit, one of the largest naturalistic plantings of snowdrops in the country and flowering close to the River Avon's path
