Living near our boutique on 89 Jermyn Street, Fleming was a frequent customer of Floris, popping in to discuss current affairs with 7th Generation Floris family member Michel Bodenham, who was at the helm of the company and fragrance proficient.

As a regular customer Fleming bought one of Floris most iconic fragrances N° 89. N° 89 was created by Michel Bodenham in 1951 a year before his first novel Casino Royal was published.
Orange and bergamot blended with lavender and neroli N° 89 its classical cologne aspect. Warmed with a touch of spicy nutmeg, the floral heart is underscored by the dominant woody accord of sandalwood, cedarwood and vetiver in this quintessentially English fragrance.

How to Test a Fragrance:
Testing a fragrance on clean skin and letting the top notes evaporate, revealing the heart of the perfume before the base notes emerge.
Top notes:
Top notes are the first notes to emerge when the fragrance is sprayed on the skin. These last from 5 to 15 minutes before disappearing.
Heart notes:
Heart notes or middle notes appear after the top notes have disappeared, these for two to four hours.
Base notes:
Base notes last from four to six hours and are the anchor of the fragrance.
